Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Managing Consultant to join our Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team. This role is ideal for an experienced analyst ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities while continuing to perform hands-on technical work. As a bridge between senior analysts and leadership, the Managing Consultant will lead investigations, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the strategic growth of the DFIR practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead digital forensics and incident response investigations from start to finish.
  • Participate in or lead scoping calls to define project scope and objectives.
  • Provide clear, timely verbal and written updates to clients and legal counsel.
  • Conduct in-depth forensic analysis using both commercial and open-source tools.
  • Review and validate forensic notes, artifacts, and workbook documentation.
  • Mentor and support the development of less experienced analysts.
  • Perform peer reviews of forensic reports and technical findings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely timekeeping and documentation practices.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Digital Forensics and Incident Response.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage investigations and communicate effectively with clients.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with commercial forensic tools: FTK, EnCase, X-Ways.
  • Experience with open-source tools: KAPE, Eric Zimmerman's Tools, Velociraptor, Brimor Labs, Live Collection.
  • Strong understanding of forensic methodologies, incident response workflows, and threat actor tactics.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CCE – Certified Computer Examiner
  • CFCE – Certified Forensic Computer Examiner
  • GCFA – GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst
  • GCFE – GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner
  • GNFA – GIAC Network Forensic Analyst
