Job description

What You Will Be Doing
This is a Manufacturing Engineer Sr Staff position on the Production Engineering (PE) F35 Strategic Corrective Action (SCA) team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role dynamic role you will serve in a Technical Lead capacity, primarily supporting the Rework and Repair (R&R) Council, as well as other potential special assignments and Technical Lead duties as required. This high visibility role will allow you to work cross-functionally to develop and execute on the strategy to support the R&R reduction efforts across F-35 Production Operations. This role is essential to shaping the future of F-35 R&R strategy and must be comfortable periodically reporting to Senior Leadership including Director and VP level leaders.
You will lead various project charters and support the cross functional teams as needed in their efforts to reduce R&R across the program. This will include investigations of manufacturing processes across multiple build areas as well as at a program level, applying LeanSixSigma tools to uncover root causes, close process gaps, developing corrective action plans, and weekly coordination with Production Operations counterparts. You will work closely with Quality Engineering and Production Operations, coordinate cross functional teams, promote creative problem solving, and drive product improvement initiatives. Throughout each corrective action effort you will project manage the work from initiation through verification and closure, while tracking key metrics to reduce variation and elevate overall product quality.
