Schedule: Approximately 24 Hours per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support database infrastructure, administration, performance, and security within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable database systems, managing large datasets, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring database availability, integrity, and performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive database administration experience with strong knowledge of MS Access, Quickbase, Honeywell PHD, SQL, and database management technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and support database systems and related infrastructure
  • Monitor database availability, reliability, performance, and data integrity
  • Manage and analyze large datasets and complex database queries
  • Troubleshoot database performance, connectivity, and system issues
  • Maintain database security and protect systems against unauthorized access
  • Support database upgrades, configuration changes, and ongoing system improvements
  • Develop and maintain database documentation and technical procedures
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to support business and manufacturing requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve database performance, reliability, and efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant IT infrastructure, database administration, or related technical experience
  • CTS certification
  • Experience with MS Access, Quickbase, and Honeywell PHD
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and database management systems
  • Experience with database administration tools and utilities
  • Ability to work with large datasets and complex queries
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams
  • Ability to work onsite in Sacramento 2–3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting databases within manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Programming experience with Python, R, or similar languages
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and database technologies
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level database environments
  • Strong documentation and technical communication skills
