Job description

Lidl US is searching for the next Purchasing Analyst to join our Food Buying team! The Purchasing Analyst monitors stock levels in regional distribution centers and evaluates store orders to ensure product availability. Key responsibilities of the role include sending orders to vendors, coordinating delivery requirements, and maintaining regular communication with internal departments regarding assortment changes.
What You'll Do
Essential Functions
  • Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
  • Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects
  • Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
  • Monitor stock levels in regional distribution centers to ensure adequate availability
  • Analyze store orders and use the information to place orders with vendors
  • Liaise with vendors regarding delivery requests such as arrival schedules and minimum order quantities
  • Create and maintain sales reports for senior management and analyze sales figures to project future volume requirements
  • Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to the relevant buyers
  • Liaise regularly with buyers regarding assortment and vendor changes
  • Communicate with internal departments regarding product availability, delivery schedules and store order pattern
What You'll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to work independently
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Physical Job Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
