Our Structures team is hiring a Senior Project Manager! The Senior Project Manager wins new business or secure repeat business and manage all aspects of multiple projects using company project controls, available staff, and sub- consultant resources. Typically, these projects or potential projects are small to medium sized with moderate complexity. These efforts require effective and efficient monitoring the budgetary health of the projects and a greater level of client care. The individual production and coordination efforts are reduced significantly with the balance of the role being the actual management of the projects and engagement in business development activities.
This individual will develop their own client base through business development activities and a higher level of client care, developing long-standing, positive client relationships. The supervisory responsibilities include the training, development and mentoring of direct reports, and to assigned staff to responsible projects. This individual will need to maintain a broad view of the project and communicate this view through direct, ongoing communication with both upper and lower levels of staff, clients, and sub-consultants. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads project teams to successful completion of quality deliverables
  • Manages quality, budget, and schedule of responsible projects
  • Engages with all aspects of project proposals
  • Participates in project interviews with potential/existing clients
  • Communicates effectively to all levels within the organization
  • Develops and leads a cohesive team to achieve project objectives
  • Generates sufficient business to sustain and grow responsible group

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Meets/exceeds competencies of Project Manager
  • 10-12 + years progressively responsible experience
  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, concentration in structures strongly preferred, but not required, MS in Civil or Structural Engineering a plus
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license required; or PE in another state with the ability to obtain CA Licensure within one year
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency knowledge of general engineering principals, statics, dynamics of structures and general engineering design
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Knowledge of overall project deliverable processes (PSR, PAED, PS&E)
  • Ability to positively establish and grow client relationships
  • Knowledge of effective business development practices
  • Demonstrated ability to chase, sell, and secure small-medium size project work with more and existing clients
  • Competent/outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management practices
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments
  • Demonstrated understanding of project financials and metrics
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
