Senior Project Manager | Transportation

We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Transportation team in our Cranberry Township, PA office. As a Senior Project Manager with HRG, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation projects, including roadway, traffic, and highway, and bridge initiatives. This role provides technical and strategic leadership for multidisciplinary project teams while maintaining responsibility for project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory compliance. As a Senior Project Manager, you will serve as a key client liaison, supports staff development, and ensures successful delivery of transportation projects in alignment with applicable standards and agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from planning through design and completion, including coordination of project teams and assignment of staff responsibilities
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, quality control, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and review transportation-related design calculations, technical analyses, plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Review and approve transportation project submittals, including drawings, payment applications, RFIs, change orders, claims, and closeout documentation
  • Coordinate and manage permitting efforts for transportation projects, including work involving PennDOT and other regulatory agencies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining communication throughout the project lifecycle and after project completion
  • Attend and lead meetings with agency representatives and stakeholders to support transportation project review, approval, and delivery
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and other staff to ensure coordinated delivery of transportation projects across disciplines
  • Ensure proper project documentation and bookkeeping procedures, including retainer-based transportation assignments
  • Assist in proposal preparation, estimating time, cost, and resources required to complete projects
  • Participate in business development efforts and client presentations to secure new project opportunities

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure highly preferred
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience managing engineering projects, with demonstrated experience in transportation engineering assignments
  • Experience with transportation-related work such as highway, traffic, or bridge projects, construction administration, ordinance and plan review, PennDOT permitting, and project presentations
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple transportation projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience facilitating meetings with agencies and project stakeholders
  • Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, applicable engineering software, etc.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
  • Valid US Driver's License is required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
