Contract

Qualifications
  • Bachelor in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related technical discipline.
  • 20+ years of progressive project management experience, preferably in the electric utility industry.
  • Managing large-scale transmission, substation, and/or underground utility projects.
  • Engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and utility operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large capital budgets and complex project schedules.
  • Strong knowledge of utility outage planning and coordination.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors, engineering consultants, construction contractors, and vendors.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • PMP certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
 
Position Overview
Seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to provide executive-level project management oversight, technical expertise, and direction for major electric utility infrastructure projects.
This individual will be responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of complex projects involving overhead transmission, substations, and underground electrical infrastructure.
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership across engineering, procurement, construction, scheduling, budgeting, outage coordination, and stakeholder management.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level leadership and oversight for major electric utility capital projects.
  • Manage projects involving overhead transmission lines, substations, and underground transmission/distribution systems.
  • Lead projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Establish and manage project scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and performance expectations.
  • Provide strategic direction to project managers, engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and construction personnel.
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecasts, expenditures, and overall budget.
  • Oversee master project schedules and major project milestones.
  • Coordinate outage requirements and construction sequencing with utility operations.
  • Manage major engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee contractor performance, contract administration, change management, and commercial issues.
  • Provide senior management with project status, financial, schedule, risk, and performance reporting.
  • Serve as a key interface between utility leadership, engineering organizations, construction teams, contractors, regulatory stakeholders, and other project participants.
  • Mentor and provide leadership to project management personnel.
