Project Overview:

Bechtel has been appointed as the Delivery Partner, supporting our customer Metrolinx as part of an integrated team, to help deliver the signature Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project, a transformational transit project for the Greater Toronto Area. The multi-billion-dollar project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment.

The Project Controls Analyst will be part of the South Civil work package team delivering seven (7) new stations and six (6) kilometers of twin bore tunnel between Exhibition Station and the Don Valley in the heart of downtown Toronto. The works are already well into the construction phase.

Job Summary:

The Ontario Line Delivery Partner is currently seeking a Project Controls Analyst with experience in multiple disciplines of Project Controls, quantification, planning, cost, risk and reporting. Project Controls Analyst will report directly to the Project Controls Manager for South Civil. Although principally an office-based role, Project Controls Analyst is expected to visit project sites for firsthand view of the works in progress both above ground and up to 40m below ground in the caverns and tunnels of the works, which will require access via ladders and stairtowers. #LI-ML1

Major Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing planned scope quantities and maintaining Scope Books.
  • Working with field specialists reviewing and analyzing installed quantities and contractor’s forecasts for completion.
  • Working with station teams and planning team in schedule analysis of contractor’s programme.
  • Supporting Delivery Teams and Risk analyst in updating, maintaining, and analyzing risks.
  • Support Project Controls manager in earned value forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and contribute to dashboards, progress summaries, performance reports, and weekly/monthly management reporting in SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Ad-hoc development and maintenance of dashboards and presentations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in reviewing and processing data to provide useful management information that enables informed management decision making.
  • Experience working in a construction or manufacturing environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build working relationships with a diverse workforce from senior management to craft operatives.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems and several basic software applications. 
  • Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications (Primavera P6, Oracle Unifier and similar databases, and Microsoft Office Applications).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders at various levels.
  • A willingness and ability to learn new skills and take on responsibilities
