Position Overview:

The Senior Director, Project Controls is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the Project Controls function across the Capital Projects organization. This role oversees project cost management, estimating, planning, scheduling, forecasting, risk analysis, change management, and performance reporting across a portfolio of major capital projects executed utilizing EPC/EPCM contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Project Controls organization including cost control, estimating, planning, scheduling, risk management, and reporting.
  • Establish standards, procedures, and KPIs across the capital portfolio.
  • Oversee project cost forecasting, earned value management, cash flow forecasting, and executive reporting.
  • Ensure development and maintenance of integrated master schedules.
  • Lead estimating activities from conceptual through detailed project phases.
  • Manage EPC/EPCM contractor compliance with project controls requirements.
  • Direct portfolio risk management, change control, and contingency management processes.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and decision support to senior leadership.
  • Support implementation and optimization of project controls systems and analytics tools.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing project controls team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field required.
  • 15+ years of project controls and capital project experience.
  • 8+ years leading project controls organizations.
  • Extensive EPC/EPCM project execution experience.
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6, cost control, forecasting, estimating, and risk management.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP, CCP, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, or equivalent professional certifications preferred.
