Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $190000year - $220000year

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is strictly required, along with an active clinical license.
  • Proven track record as a clinical pharmacist operating directly within an acute care hospital or health system provider environment.
  • Must possess hands-on 340B experience encompassing both mixed-use settings and contract pharmacy operations.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of intensive 340B operations experience within a massive, highly matrixed healthcare or multi-hospital system.
  • Proven track record of personally managing, preparing for, and executing large-scale, complex government 340B audits and regulatory optimization protocols.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills necessary to lead high-level stakeholder meetings and align policy across separate major institutional divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations for 340B clinic-administered medications, split-billing software, and pharmacy fulfillments across the enterprise.
  • Direct a 15-person team, including hiring, onboarding, mentorship, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to develop and execute business plans that leverage 340B savings to expand care for underserved populations.
  • Prepare budgets, manage drug spend analysis, forecast financial impacts, and monitor program savings.
  • Serve as the institutional authority on HRSA/OPA guidelines, Medicaid regulations, and federal compliance.
  • Lead internal and external audits, serve as the primary audit coordinator, and manage remediation efforts to ensure 100% compliance.
  • Oversee annual HRSA recertification, maintain database accuracy, and ensure all child sites meet registration requirements.
  • Champion the implementation of automation tools (RPA) and software to increase efficiency and compliance.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with contracted pharmacies, including data setup, billing services, and contract language.
  • Monitor points of service for new 340B opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate operational barriers.
  • Develop competency materials and conduct ongoing training to keep all staff aligned with program standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison for 340B inquiries, presenting key metrics and performance reports to senior administrative and pharmacy leadership.
  • Build strong relationships with internal leadership, external vendors, and peer 340B institutions.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior leadership experience guiding large networks through recent multi-hospital system integrations or transition periods.
  • Direct sourcing focused on enterprise health systems across the East Coast/Northeast—specifically peer networks like Beth Israel Lahey Health, Boston Medical Center, Steward Health Care, Yale New Haven Health, Client HealthCare, or major New York/NJ hospital systems.
