Job description

Job Title: Power BI Consultant Location: Houston, TX Citizenship: MUST be US Citizen or Green Card Holder; no C2C Candidates will be considered Type: Contract Compensation: $60.00 - $70.00 hourly Contractor Work Model: Hybrid in Houston, TX JOB DESCRIPTION Position Summary The Power BI Analytics Consultant will design and build PMO analytics and reporting solutions. This role is focused on creating scalable data models, automated data pipelines, and advanced BI dashboards that provide robust, self-service insights for portfolio, program, and project performance. The consultant will work closely with PMO stakeholders to translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose analytics tools, then hand over solutions with documentation and knowledge transfer. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced BI dashboards, reports, and reusable data models to support PMO, portfolio, and project reporting.
  • Define and embed standardized PMO KPIs, metrics, and scorecards into analytics solutions, ensuring consistent business logic and calculations.
  • Deliver documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to enable PMO and internal teams to own and evolve the analytics tools after the engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced experience in analytics/BI development or data engineering, with a strong focus on building production-grade BI solutions.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing BI solutions in project-oriented or PMO environments.
  • Experience working with project/portfolio data (schedule, cost, resource, risk, benefits) is strongly preferred.
Technical & Core Skills
  • Strong solution design mindset, with the ability to turn business requirements into practical, scalable analytics tools.

  • Advanced Power BI (or equivalent) experience setting up and managing BI workspaces, apps, dataflows, gateways, and deployment pipelines.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills; highly organized and self-directed in a consulting role.
