Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer for a long-term contract position based in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power BI development, with expertise in M Code (Power Query), DAX, and a solid sense of UI/UX design to create visually compelling and interactive dashboards.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-performing team on enterprise-level data visualization and reporting projects that have direct business impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
  • Write complex M Code (Power Query) transformations to clean and model raw data efficiently.
  • Build and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns to support advanced analytics and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Apply best practices in UI/UX design to create user-friendly and visually appealing dashboards.
  • Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and performance of reports.
  • Support ad hoc report requests and ongoing data visualization needs from multiple departments.
  • Ensure data security, governance, and compliance in Power BI environments.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in BI and data analytics, with a strong focus on Power BI.
  • Proficiency in M Code/Power Query for data shaping and transformation.
  • Strong experience with DAX for building advanced metrics and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability in UI/UX principles for report and dashboard design.
  • Hands-on experience connecting Power BI to various data sources (SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, etc.).
