Job description

Title: Sr Power BI Developer
Location:  Westlake, TX
Alternate location: Smithfield, Rhode Island
Local candidates only
Interview: 2 rounds via zoom
Note: This is a W2 Contract position!
This team deals in a lot of legacy code and the job is to understand/replicate the legacy and move to the latest tech stack. 
This is a gritty job. Hands on, not a lead position. 
Reporting platform – report modernization project. Need to be able to understand the old environment to effectively work on the new. 
Analysis on their own. Not going to be left on their own but need a self-starter.

Required skills: 
Power BI programing, query at a high level
Data modeling experience
Deploy reports
Snowflake, oracle (tableau is not going to work)
ETL
Excellent communication - reporting to multiple teams and drive conversations 
Performance tuning

Fidelity''s Workplace Investing Reporting and Analytics chapter is seeking a PowerBI Developer to play a key role in enhancing client experience for PSW reporting application by delivering new functionality on newer technology stack.
This person will provide technical leadership and oversight, implement architecture recommendations, work with technical partners, and assist developers and testers as needed. The role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical project. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, hardworking, and self-driven. We work in a very dynamic agile environment.

The Expertise You Have
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science / similar technical subject area and or equivalent experience
• Experience as a Power BI Developer with a strong portfolio of built reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
• Hands-on PowerBI Developer.
• Proficient in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M Language), Semantic model development and custom visuals.
• Conceptual understanding of embedding reports in portal environment
• Knowledge of Power BI governance, security settings, and user access management.
• Experience with large-scale data visualization
• Understanding security roles (RLS) implementation within PowerBI
• Hands-on experience working with Snowflake data warehouse, including integration, data modeling, and SQL querying.
• Extensive experience in Data engineering, Data Modeling and Data analysis
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, etc.) and the ability to design scalable data models.
• Hands on experience with SQL & Performance Tuning in relation with Snowflake queries. Ability to work with large datasets efficiently.
• Understanding best practices and implementation of standards within Power BI reports.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot data or report issues.
• Experience with CI/CD for BI & Data Pipelines
• Experience with Snowflake-specific features, such as Snowflake data sharing, Snowpipe, or Snowflake Streams.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure in relation to Snowflake.
• Hands on java / python skills .
