Powder Coat Supervisor
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Powder Coat Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our powder coating department. This individual will be responsible for leading a team, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and driving safety and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with powder coating systems, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily powder coat department operations, including pretreatment, coating, curing, unloading, packaging, and material flow
  • Lead, train, schedule, and manage department employees to meet production and quality goals
  • Operate, monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot powder coating equipment including automatic booths, reclaim systems, powder guns, conveyors, and curing ovens
  • Ensure proper powder application, adhesion, film build, cure quality, color consistency, and finish standards
  • Coordinate production priorities with management and other departments to maintain workflow and on-time delivery
  • Enforce safety policies, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA compliance
  • Monitor department performance, powder usage, waste, rework, and efficiency metrics
  • Manage employee attendance, performance, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities and communicate equipment repair needs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain inventory levels of powders, masking materials, hooks, plugs, and other department consumables
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, labor efficiency, and cost reduction


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in powder coating, industrial finishing, painting, or a related manufacturing environment
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of powder coating processes, equipment, and quality standards
  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment and resolving process issues
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
