Job description

Objective of Role:

LaSalle Investment Management is seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant who will serve in a lead role in managing key components of the accounting and reporting processes for one or more real estate investment portfolios reporting under Fair Value GAAP and IFRS . The Senior Portfolio Accountant will report directly to the Portfolio Controller and play a critical role in financial analysis, reporting, and process optimization.

Accountabilities:

  • Take a lead role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes
  • Review property management financial statements
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Complete quarterly financial analysis, including review of investment accounting information
  • Coordinate with the cash management group to execute cash transactions, including capital calls, investor distributions, and property acquisitions/dispositions
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables, including yearend audit and tax requirements
  • Calculate, analyze, and report portfolio performance returns
  • Respond to client inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across reporting processes
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying problems and recommending solutions
  • Lead and support special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation is preferred. Candidate will be expected to achieve CPA in order to qualify for future progression
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively and independently develop solutions to problems
  • Effectiveness in reviewing own work to achieve high levels of accuracy
  • Extremely organized multi-tasker with great attention to detail
  • Team player who works well both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts
  • Strongly proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
