As Sr. Platform Engineer III, you'll provide platform engineering expertise for containerized environments supporting mission-critical workloads, designing and operating Kubernetes platforms while contributing immediately within a disciplined Agile delivery model.

What you'll do:

  • Work as part of a collaborative and high-performing team delivering technical solutions within the highest levels of the federal government.
  • Design and operate Kubernetes and container platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
  • Participate in Agile execution, planning, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in complex environments.
  • Communicate platform status, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through technical expertise and professionalism.
  • Use creativity and engineering judgment to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • Required technical certifications include Certified Kubernetes Administrator and Terraform Associate.
  • Possess DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role, such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
  • 6+ years of experience in systems or DevOps engineering, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, building, and maintaining container orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Hands-on experience ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of containerized environments in enterprise or mission-critical settings.
  • Operational experience managing CI/CD pipelines, container build processes, and infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and operating container runtimes, orchestration tooling, and supporting services.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling including Rancher, Helm, Docker, Cilium, Rook, Ceph, MinIO, S3, and PortWorx.Experience leading or assisting in design and implementation on complex integrated container platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
  • Required technical certifications include Certified Kubernetes Administrator and Terraform Associate.

This position is designated as essential personnel supporting continuity of operations and may require work during government shutdowns, emergencies, or other critical situations.

SALARY RANGE:  $184,000 - $285,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including: 

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
