To advance our mission, the National Wildlife Federation seeks a Senior Director for Acquisitions with strong interpersonal, collaborative, written and verbal communications skills-as well as demonstrated abilities to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the AVP of Membership Programs, the Sr. Director will join a high-performing and accomplished team that is working to grow and diversify our member file. This is an exciting time of growth at the National Wildlife Federation. This role is ideal for a deadline-driven, well-organized, adaptable, and entrepreneurial self-starter who seeks opportunities to leverage professional talents and expertise to contribute meaningfully toward accomplishing the Federation's ambitious conservation agenda.
The Senior Director of Face-to-Face and Direct Mail Acquisition Fundraising will be responsible for developing and executing a national strategy to acquire high-value monthly donors through street and door-to-door fundraising, single gift donors through direct mail, and manage vendor partnerships. This role will oversee both donor acquisition and the strategic management of the monthly sustainer program to maximize retention, lifetime value, and revenue sustainability.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategy to grow face-to-face monthly donor acquisition and single gift direct mail acquisition.
  • Establish annual revenue, donor volume, CTA, retention, and LTV targets.
  • Oversee national F2F operations, including internal teams and external vendors.
  • Manage and optimize the monthly donor (sustainer) program, including onboarding, stewardship strategy, upgrade pathways, and retention performance.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including cost to acquire, average monthly gift, 12-month retention, and long-term value.
  • Lead budget development, forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate monthly donors into multi-channel engagement strategies.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7+ years of professional experience with 5+ dedicated to direct marketing at a large multi-faceted nonprofit organization, an agency, or corporate setting
  • Experience in creating marketing campaigns from developing vision and the message platform
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
  • Experience with face-to-face and direct mail marketing campaigns, and understanding how to integrate content across marketing channels to better fundraising results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of audiences
  • Dedication to deepening understanding of cultural and systemic racism and the intersectionality of multiple forms of social inequality
  • Must have experience working with a variety of vendors and managing out-sourced functions
  • Passion for the preservation and protection of wildlife and wild places is highly desirable. Experience in environmental conservation a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position will be expected to travel around 3-5 times per year to engage in-person with National Wildlife Federation teams and vendors working across the U.S. (approximately 2-3 nights per trip).
LOCATION AND WORK MODE
This position will work remotely, although some travel throughout the year is expected.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $99,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience.
