Job Description

The Zenith Competitive Intelligence team delivers advertising intelligence that translates into actionable insights and marketplace advantage for our clients. Our work informs strategy, planning, and business decision-making by contextualizing competitive dynamics, media investment trends, and messaging strategies.ย

As a Senior Analyst, you will own end-to-end Competitive Intelligence workstreams, transforming complex data into clear, business-focused insights. This role goes beyond reporting: success is defined by your ability to connect data to business context, develop a point of view, and translate findings into implications that support strategic decisions.

The Individual:

The Senior Analyst is an accountable owner of assigned Competitive Intelligence workstreams, operating with a high degree of independence. This role is responsible for managing work from intake through delivery, including intake communication, insight development, QA, and stakeholder communication/engagement. Senior analysts are expected to think critically about data, proactively identify patterns, risks, and opportunities, and ensure outputs are not only accurate but clearly tied to the business.ย

Responsibilities
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive work forward
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to move from data to insight to implication
  • Clear communicator who can translate complex data into concise, stakeholder-ready narratives
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong standards for accuracy and quality
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
  • Curious, proactive, and motivated to improve outputs and processes continuouslyย
  • Own recurring reporting and ad hoc Competitive Intelligence analyses from intake through final delivery
  • Analyze competitive data to identify trends, investment shifts, and messaging strategies
  • Translate findings into clear insights, business implications, and strategic recommendationsย
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all deliverables (data, storytelling, and formatting)ย
  • Present Competitive Intelligence in internal and client-facing forums on a recurring (e.g. weekly) basis, clearly articulating key trends, shifts, and competitive activity, with a focus on surfacing timely, decision-relevant intelligenceย
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and opportunities with recommended next stepsย
  • Manage timelines and communicate status, dependencies, and risks proactively
  • Partner cross-functionally to align outputs with broader business priorities and stakeholder needsย
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in media strategy, media analytics, competitive intelligence, or related field
  • Experience owning reporting or analysis end-to-end
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including data manipulation, QA validation, pivot tables, and managing large data setsย
  • Exposure to Power Queries or working with large datasets
  • Ability to connect data findings to business context and implications
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Experience presenting preferred
  • Familiar with Competitive Intelligence data (ex: Mensio, Media Monitors, or Nielsen)

What success looks like:

  • Deliverables are accurate, clear, and consistently business-focused
  • Insights go beyond reporting to explain drivers and implications
  • Workstreams progress with minimal oversightย
  • Risks, gaps, and caveats are surfaced proactively
  • Stakeholders trust the Senior Analyst to own and drive work forward independentlyย
