The person in this role will champion The Hill's stable of daily newsletters.The Senior Editor- Part Time willplay a key role intheflagshipnewsletter,Morning Report,helpingdevelopitscontent andheadlines,making final line editsand positioning it to drive conversation.This part time editor will also oversee daily policy newsletters, with an opportunity to help shape strategy and grow audiences.

An ability to work easily across departments is essential, as the Part Time Senior Editorwillcoordinateclosely with the advertising team,communicate newsletter ad partnerships to thenewsroomand ensurefinalproductsmeetsalesexpectations.

This part time editor will manageeditors and reporters, making management experience ideal.

Generally, thesuccessful applicant willalsowork with reporters andeditors to generate ideas and craft and refine nonpartisan storiesacross the political spectrum.Asolidwork ethic,excellenttime-managementskillsand the ability to write and edit headlines and copy that sizzlesare essential.

Master The Hill'snewsletter platformand train others as needed

Coordinate with other departments, such assalesandproduction, to ensure smooth content flow andtimelypublication

Manage deadlines and workflows for assigned content

Perform other duties as assigned by senior management

Requirements & Skills:

A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field isrequired

Previousediting experience in a metro or national media environment is preferred

Must be well-versed in current events and politics

Compensation Range: $50-$56 hourly based upon experience
