Job Summary/Description:

Alaska's News Source is looking for a part-time News Video Editor who is responsible for editing video and sound for news broadcasts, streaming platforms, and online coverage. The ideal candidate will have experience as a news video editor, a positive attitude, and be able to work in a high-paced news environment where multitasking and daily changes are the norm. You must be able to work independently and with other staff members to edit video as instructed and deliver that content to air or publication under tight daily deadlines. This shift is Mon-Fri, 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for editing video and sound for broadcast and publication on all of the station's multimedia platforms
* Must display competence in video editing for news coverage, including journalistic and ethical integrity
* Must be capable of working independently and part of a team
* Must collaborate closely with producers and reporters to ensure accuracy in editing at all times
* Travel could be required as news assignments/coverage warrants
* On-call work is required on a rotation with other team members

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Experience as a News Video Journalist and Editor
* College degree (Journalism or related field) is preferred
* Must hold a valid driver's license and a good driving record
* Shift is Mon-Fri 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., but must be willing to work flexible hours and a variety of shifts, as needed, including but not limited to: mornings, afternoons, late nights, holidays, weekends and possible overtime hours
* Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
* Must have the desire to be at work during big breaking news events, weather coverage and special events
