Job description

You will be the Sr Optical Coater for the Optical Components Center (OCC). Our team is responsible for the production of advanced optical components-coatings, polished lenses, prisms, mirrors and test plates.


What You Will Be Doing

As the Sr Optical Coater you will apply your expertise to coat, polish, grind and diamondturn optical parts while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Interpret manufacturing process plans, engineering drawings, and MIL specifications to perform coating, polishing, grinding, and diamondturning of lenses, prisms, mirrors, shop aids and test plates.

  • Operate and maintain coating equipment for single and multilayer thinfilm applications, ensuring repeatable thickness and optical performance.

  • Perform visual inspections, metrology checks, and document all process parameters and results in electronic tracking systems.

  • Troubleshoot coating defects, adjust process variables, and implement corrective actions to sustain quality and yield.

  • Support 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift schedules and collaborate with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams to drive continuousimprovement initiatives.
