Job Description:
The Senior Operations Analyst role is focused on the legal documentation and processes with regards to mortgage lending. This includes assisting in obtaining and reviewing legal entity documents, interfacing with outside counsel, generating mortgage loan document packages, drafting and executing of assignments and endorsements, recording of mortgage loans and management of the digital and physical collateral once loans have been closed and held for sale.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft loan documents through approved loan document generation platforms, review and confirm any special situations regarding riders, entities and unique loan structures.
  • Review and reconcile settlement statements by confirming all closing costs, escrows, required payoffs, cash-out proceeds (if applicable and within guidelines) as well as borrower deposit credits / additional funds due.
  • Lead the coordination and communication with title companies for the scheduling of closing, required notarizations, sending of documents, receiving, reviewing and signing off on signed documents and approving disbursements. Show top notch communication and friendly treatment towards title representatives and notaries.
  • Act in a funding role by always confirming wiring instructions via individual phone call confirmation and drafting and submitting wire disbursements from our funding bank accounts.
  • Promptly send out funding confirmation e-mails and confirm final data in the excel underwriting spreadsheet/Fusion (closing date, funding date, etc.).
  • Draft mortgage loan assignments, allonges and endorsements, confirm notarization and execution and proper recording with applicable jurisdictions.
  • Organize loan files into professionally filed and named organizational file structures.
  • Perform collateral management tasks including reception and confirmation of loan files, shipping packages to third-party lenders and investors and managing digital loan file uploads.
  • Special projects related to legal and regulatory issues surrounding the needs of our borrowers, including, but not limited to, research and content production regarding Short Term Rental ("STR") regulations and non-QM regulations.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in mortgage loan closing, funding, or post-closing operations (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of residential mortgage loan documents, settlement statements, and closing processes
  • Experience coordinating with title companies, notaries, and escrow officers
  • Familiarity with non-QM and/or investor guidelines is a plus
  • High attention to detail with the ability to review and reconcile complex settlement statements and loan documents accurately
  • Experience preparing and confirming wire transfers and funding disbursements
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems, document generation platforms, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and service-oriented approach
  • Ability to manage multiple closings and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and experience maintaining clean digital and physical loan files
  • Proven ability to research complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and work independently through resolution
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
