Job description

Overview
Plans, configures, installs, and maintains the college's data network communications. Manages WAN, LAN, security, and wireless systems as well as mentor junior networking staff.
Participates in efforts to develop strategies for on-premise and cloud systems connectivity, as well as manage disaster recovery and business continuity planning. Troubleshoots, installs, and configures networking components, as well as manage projects.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Campus and Data Center Networking
  • Manages data center networking, including core routing, core switching, load balancers, and fiber optic connectivity.
  • Administers campus networking, including wireless controllers, wireless access points, and access switches.
  • Participates in the Infrastructure on-call notification system.

Network Applications, Security, and Services
  • Administers network applications including IPAM, DHCP, DNS, VoIP and IPTV.
  • Manages network monitoring and reporting tools to measure performance and service availability.
  • Supports network security systems for authentication, encryption and firewall policies.

Internet and Cloud Computing
  • Supports cloud computing technologies, including implementation and migration of on-premise services to cloud/hosted environments.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining an ongoing plan for integrating cloud services to meet campus needs.
  • Supervises campus internet connections, including managing ISP relationships, WAN connectivity, and site-to-site connections.

Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Assists in disaster recovery planning and connectivity, this includes connectivity to remote and cloud datacenters.
  • Maintains regular network configuration and server backups.
  • Provides backup support in the absence of other team members.

3rd party Coordination
  • Works with outside vendors and contractors on network related projects.

Other Responsibilities: Completes other responsibilities as assigned. Participates as an active member of the team. Participates in department and college activities and supports implementation of shared goals and initiatives. Provides backup support to other members of the team.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Networking or equivalent degree required and/or combination of experience and relevant industry certifications (CCNP, JNCIS, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with data networks, network-related systems administration, or other relevant IT experience required
  • Experience with protocols such as BGP and OSPF and equipment from Juniper, Aruba and Palo Alto Networks strongly preferred

Compensation:
$97,392.00-$101,819.00 Annually
