Job description

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.
At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We're explorers, pursuing society's most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you'll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Your Impact
Great design doesn't just support the Axon brand. It moves people to believe in it. As Senior Marketing Designer, you'll shape how Axon looks and feels across every surface: campaign creative, event environments, social content, sales materials, and brand moments that show up in front of law enforcement agencies, city governments, and the public.
This is a role for someone who operates with both creative confidence and entrepreneurial instinct. You'll take direction from the Executive Creative Director and run with it, but you'll also bring your own angles, push ideas forward, and find design opportunities that nobody asked for yet. You're fluent in the full Adobe suite, deeply comfortable with AI creative tools, and you understand how static design sets the tone for motion, environment, and experience even when you're not the one executing those elements.
You'll work across a high-output creative studio where planned campaigns and reactive projects exist side by side. You need range, speed, and the judgment to know when to refine and when to ship.
What You'll Do
Location: Seattle, WA | Boston, MA | Scottsdale, AZ - In Person 4 days per week
Reports to: Executive Creative Director
Brand and Campaign Creative
  • Concept and execute design across brand campaigns, product launches, sales enablement materials, executive presentations, and social content
  • Develop visual systems, style frames, and design languages that can scale across multiple formats and channels
  • Translate strategic briefs into compelling creative executions that are on-brand, on-message, and visually distinctive
  • Bring original creative angles to projects, not just executions of what has been asked for

Events and Experiential
  • Design visual identity and environmental design elements for trade shows, conferences, and live brand activations including Axon's annual Accelerate conference and major industry events such as IACP
  • Create booth concepts, signage systems, stage graphics, display materials, and event collateral that deliver a cohesive brand experience at scale
  • Develop design frameworks that can be handed off to fabrication vendors and production partners with clarity and precision
  • Collaborate with internal video and event teams to ensure design and production are visually aligned across every touchpoint

Motion and Multimedia Direction
  • Design static elements, style frames, and visual systems that establish the creative direction for motion graphics, video, and animation
  • Art direct motion designers and video editors to ensure the final output reflects the intended design vision
  • Create assets that translate clearly across print, digital, and motion formats

AI-Augmented Design Practice
  • Work fluently with AI creative tools including Adobe Firefly, Higgsfield, and similar platforms as a standard part of your design workflow
  • Use AI tools to accelerate concepting, visualization, and iteration without sacrificing craft or brand integrity
  • Stay current on the AI design landscape and bring new capabilities and workflows to the creative team

Creative Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Executive Creative Director on creative development, present ideas clearly, and incorporate feedback with a collaborative mindset
  • Partner with marketing, product, sales, and communications stakeholders to understand project objectives and deliver work that serves both brand and business goals
  • Contribute to the development and governance of Axon's visual identity standards across the creative team
  • Direct design team on projects while helping develop skillsets

Work Location
This role is based out of our Seattle, Boston, or Scottsdale location and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
What You Bring
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as an Art Director or Senior Designer in a brand, agency, or in-house creative environment
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range across campaign creative, brand design, event and experiential work, and digital content
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Deep working knowledge of AI creative tools including Adobe Firefly and AI image and video generation platforms
  • Strong understanding of environmental and experiential design, including how design translates from screen to physical space
  • Ability to develop visual systems and style frames that direct motion and multimedia executions
  • Entrepreneurial creative instincts: you bring ideas to the table, not just executions
  • Comfortable operating in both a directed and self-directed capacity depending on project needs
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to walk stakeholders through creative rationale clearly and confidently
  • Alignment with Axon's values: ownership, candor, curiosity, and a commitment to building trust in service of our mission to Protect Life

Preferred
  • Experience designing for B2B, government, public safety, or technology brands
  • Background in large-scale event or trade show design
  • Familiarity with Figma for collaborative design and handoff workflows
  • Experience art directing photo and video shoots
  • Working knowledge of motion design principles and basic After Effects proficiency
