This role is responsible for the design, development, testing, and commercialization of reciprocating piston pumps, servo-driven dispensing systems, valves, applicators, and related electro-mechanical equipment used in industrial automation and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate combines strong electro-mechanical design expertise with a deep understanding of fluid handling, motion control, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and release of reciprocating pumps, servo-driven dispensing systems, valves, applicators, and related automation equipment.
  • Develop electro-mechanical solutions for precision fluid delivery and material handling applications.
  • Perform system-level design including architecture development, component selection, analysis, risk assessment, and validation.
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using a 3D CAD System with a focus on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Specify and integrate servo motors, ball screws, bearings, linear motion systems, and drive components.
  • Lead prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and design verification activities.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, test plans, technical documentation, and bills of material.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, suppliers, and customers to support product development, commercialization, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable quality, safety, CE, Machinery Directive, and RoHS requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience designing electro-mechanical products, machinery, or fluid handling equipment.
  • Experience with reciprocating pumps, dispensing systems, automation equipment, or similar industrial products.
  • Advanced SolidWorks proficiency including complex assemblies, detailed drawings, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • Strong expertise in servo motor selection, ball screw, and linear motion systems, bearing design, and power transmission components.
  • Solid understanding of fluid mechanics, fluid control, and pressure-driven flow systems
  • Strong mechanical design skills including stress analysis, tolerance analysis, and component optimization.
  • Experience designing machined, cast, sheet metal, and molded production components.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product testing, and production support
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and project collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Skills

  • Experience designing electrically driven pumps, metering systems, or precision dispensing equipment.
  • Experience with sealant and adhesive dispensing systems.
  • Automotive, mobility, or SAE-related product development experience.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, motion control systems, industrial controls, and HMIs.
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design, FEA, CFD, hydraulic, pneumatic, and high-pressure fluid systems.
  • Experience with battery manufacturing, industrial coating, or automated dispensing applications.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary product development programs, supporting global product launches, and collaborating directly with customers.
  • Experience using AI-enabled engineering and design tools to improve product development efficiency.
