Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer Analyst to join our team, primarily working on-site in classified spaces within MTSI's Alexandria HQ office, and in secure government facilities within the National Capitol Region. You will help meet the requirements of our expanding customer base in the National Defense sector.
This includes working directly with customers, study leads and model developers to create and execute analysis plans in various simulation environments including AFSIM, SUPPRESSOR, EADSIM and other mission and engagement level models. You will replicate systems or concepts under consideration for various operational scenarios using concepts of operation and behaviors. Additionally, you will define bounds for run matrix execution, carry out run execution, perform analysis of results, and communicate results to customers and stakeholders.
Senior Engineers will be expected to lead projects, assist with personnel management, and work on developing the skills and competencies of Associate and Engineer level team members. You will have significant buy-in and influence over day-to-day operations of the team as well as team development, standards, process, and procedure.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead efforts in defining study questions to address areas of concern and translate into analysis plans.
โ€ข Develop models in physics simulation frameworks to represent system performance and behaviors.
โ€ข Develop run matrixes and lead a study team to conduct simulation runs and produce output.
โ€ข Post-process output data into measures of merit and effectiveness to support the analysis plan objectives.
โ€ข Perform verification and validation of simulation input, output and results.
โ€ข Lead interpretation of model results and development of presentations to deliver findings and conclusions to the customer in support of their analytical objectives.
โ€ข Ensure quality of modeling & simulation products including briefings for stakeholders / customers.
โ€ข Assign sub-tasking to study team members, monitor progress, and provide guidance and direction for performance improvements.
โ€ข Possibility to directly manage Associate and Engineer level employees.
Required Qualifications:
โ€ข 6+ years of experience with mission-level modeling and simulation and Operations Analysis principals.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, operations research, computer science or similar field.
โ€ข Knowledge of modeling and simulation methodologies and tools (i.e. AFSIM, Suppressor, or EADSIM).
โ€ข Familiarization with developing experimental designs, executing study plans, and constructing scenario elements.
โ€ข Experience with object-oriented programming and principles.
โ€ข Experience conducting data analytics using various tools.
โ€ข Experience with statistics and their application in Monte Carlo simulations.
โ€ข Experience leading study or project teams for day-to-day tasking, monitoring progress, and producing a final result.
โ€ข Experience in research using IC or other digital source documentation.
โ€ข Significant experience working with and presenting to customers, in particular with US DoD, IC, or Federal Law Enforcement.
โ€ข Basic knowledge of or special interest in military operations.
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship required.
โ€ข Current SSBI or T5/T5R within 6 years, final DOD Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
โ€ข Some local travel required.

The pay range for this position is $150,000/year to $190,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
