We're proud to share our story and Make Amazing Happen at CDW. Role Summary The ScienceLogic Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and supporting ScienceLogic SL1 solutions. This includes integrating new devices, developing custom monitors, maintaining device templates, and troubleshooting performance issues within the platform. The engineer will work closely with IT infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure comprehensive coverage and accurate alerting, thereby enabling proactive incident management and efficient root cause analysis. Key Responsibilities * Deployment and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain ScienceLogic SL1 appliances and software across multiple environments.
* Platform Management: Oversee upgrades, patches, and licensing for the ScienceLogic platform to ensure optimal performance and security.
* Device Onboarding: Integrate servers, network devices, storage systems, and cloud resources into SL1, utilizing device discovery and auto-classification features.
* Monitor Development: Create and customize monitoring policies, performance baselines, and event alerts tailored to organizational needs.
* Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts-often in Python, PowerShell, or Shell-to streamline SL1 operations and integrate with external systems.
* Template Management: Build, modify, and optimize device templates to ensure accurate data collection and actionable intelligence.
* Dashboard and Reporting: Design dynamic dashboards, custom reports, and visualizations in SL1 to provide real-time insights for IT teams and business stakeholders.
* Troubleshooting and Optimization: Diagnose and resolve performance issues within the ScienceLogic platform and related integrations; recommend improvements for monitoring coverage and alert relevance.
* Integration: Connect SL1 with third-party systems such as ServiceNow, Splunk, and other ITSM, SIEM, and orchestration platforms.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for platform configuration, custom scripts, workflows, and operational procedures.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT operations, network, cloud, and application teams to align ScienceLogic monitoring with business requirements and SLAs.
* Knowledge Transfer: Train team members and end-users on the ScienceLogic platform, new features, and best practices.
* Security and Compliance: Ensure monitoring configuration aligns with organizational policies and industry compliance standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications * Must have active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph security clearance
* 3+ years' experience with ScienceLogic SL1 platform or similar monitoring/automation tools. Experience in enterprise IT environments is highly desirable.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
