Your role:

  • Deliver value to clients by providing knowledge, ideas and solutions for improving their business
  • Ensure engagements are executed in accordance with the firm's methodologies and guidance, professional standards, and level and regulatory requirements
  • Pro-actively lead and coordinate the planning and management of assignments in an efficient and effective manner
  • Lead practice and professional development initiatives
  • Ensure team members are properly managed and motivated and that staff needs, including mentoring, training and development, are identified and acted upon
  • Develop long term relationships and networks, both internally and externally
  • Manage engagement financials including budgets, WIP, variances and billing
  • Generate new business opportunities by developing ideas and solutions

What you bring to the table:

  • A Canadian CPA, CA designation
  • Minimum 7 years of public accounting experience
  • Strong technical knowledge including Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and Canadian corporate and personal tax
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online and/or any other tax preparation software
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, project management and organizational skills
  • Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to consistently meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing others to building high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships as a trusted business advisor
  • Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Business development skills are considered an asset
