Summary

In our tax senior manager role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients regarding a wide array of tax and business issues. This includes having strong subject matter expertise in your area of focus, with the ability to clearly communicate your knowledge and guidance to clients, and the desire to grow and lead a service-oriented, technically sound team.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to professional ethics of the firm and AICPA.
  • Adhere to firm policy regarding client confidentiality.
  • Demonstration of professional interest in providing clients with quality services and personal attention by performing “above and beyond the call of duty” if necessary.
  • Assist in handling escalated questions and audits from federal or state agencies.
  • Primary client contact on assigned clients, especially with respect to updating clients on progress of outstanding items and answering basic questions.
  • Provide clients with timely top-quality service by instilling a service commitment in associates and seniors and providing adequate direct supervision at all stages of the engagement.
  • Assist clients by advising of tax implications of their business objective and recommended alternate courses of action.
  • Successfully manage the planning, administration, and conclusion of client engagements.
  • Ensure all tax returns and other documents are ready for final signoff by partner.
  • Supervise preparation of tax accrual workpapers.
  • Review tax law developments and determines which developments apply to clients; ensure information is distributed to relevant team members.
  • Recognize potential technical tax issues. Work with partners and other client service team members and appropriate firm experts to manage timely resolution.
  • Consult with partners to identify and solve potential high-risk engagement issues.
  • Contribute to the growth of the practice via business development, presentations and conference attendance, external and internal training, or other efforts.
  • Foster a team environment within the department and firm by acting as a mentor and role model for managers, and participate in performance management as a “performance partner” for up to five team members.
  • Develop department policies and procedures, as necessary.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or other relevant degree program
  • CPA license required
  • Seven to twelve years of public accounting experience, preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a manager role
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multi-task with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
