Securian Financial is seeking an experienced technology leader to lead the Automation & Telecommunications Technology organization within our newly established Operations Technology area.

Operations Technology brings together enterprise platforms that power customer service, business operations, workflow automation, intelligent automation, and telecommunications. The organization reflects how we are evolving our technology capabilities to better support our associates, customers, and business partners through modern, secure, and scalable technology platforms.

As Senior Manager, you will shape engineering practices, operating models, technology strategy, and organizational culture while leading multiple engineering teams composed of Securian associates and strategic managed service partners.

Working in partnership with Business Operations, Product Management, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Technology leaders, you will lead technology platforms that simplify business operations, improve customer and associate experiences, and create lasting business value.

What You Will Do

Lead People

  • Lead and develop multiple engineering teams supporting enterprise telecommunications, contact center, workflow automation, and intelligent automation platforms.

  • Build a culture centered on collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.

  • Coach and develop engineering talent while building organizational capability for the future.

Lead Technology

  • Define platform strategy, engineering roadmaps, and long-term technology direction.

  • Lead platform engineering, modernization, lifecycle management, and operational excellence.

  • Ensure platforms remain secure, resilient, highly available, and compliant.

  • Lead incident response, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance.

  • Promote standardization, reusable platform capabilities, and engineering best practices across the enterprise.

Lead Partnerships

  • Partner closely with business leaders to identify opportunities that improve customer and associate experiences while simplifying business processes.

  • Collaborate across Enterprise Technology to align platform strategy with enterprise architecture and technology priorities.

  • Build strong relationships with strategic vendors and managed service providers to deliver consistent, high quality outcomes.

  • Manage budgets, technology investments, contracts, and licensing while ensuring strong financial stewardship.

What You Bring

  • Experience leading enterprise engineering organizations and developing technical leaders.

  • UiPath or other intelligent automation platforms.

  • AI enabled automation, intelligent document processing, workflow orchestration, or process mining.

  • Financial services or another highly regulated industry.
