Job description

Position Purpose:
This role will lead all quality activities for a "business unit" inside private brands ensuring great product experiences for The Home Depot customers, partnering closely with the DMMs to deliver on quality specific targets (examples include Star ratings, returns) as well as financial targets like sales and gross margin, leading a team of Quality Engineers in the US and Asia and prioritizing resources and activities on largest quality opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • 40% Drive Priority Tasks: Drive efforts like corrective actions, quality leadership reviews, early engagements, etc. where not delegated to team members
  • 30% Develop and Coach Team: Coach team on communications, attaining buy-in for recommendations, preparing for customer interactions, provide feedback and address specific development needs
  • 20% Set Quality Priorities for Business Unit: Ensure global resources and efforts are lined up against the highest impact efforts, align with DMMs and other partners and adjust as needed
  • 10% Set Business Unit Targets: Develop targets for team and align with DMMs and other partners

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
  • This position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance.
  • This position has up to 3 direct reports.

Travel Requirements:
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Working Conditions:
  • Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

  • 7+ years previous related work experience
  • 10+ years previous leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Tableau
  • Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to convey complex or technical ideas and processes in easy-to-understand terms to diverse audiences
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Engineering degree, demonstrated ability to solve tough problems, solid decision making skills, proven ability to communicate to large teams and senior executives, and ability o develop talent are preferred
