Job description

  • RigUp is hiring an Accounting Senior Manager to lead the corporate accounting team, including taking ownership of the teamโ€™s career learning and growth
  • The role includes managing the close process and internal control environment for the RigUp group and its subsidiaries and to be the accounting partner for the financial operations teams, FP&A, and other cross-functional leaders within the Company
  • RigUp is looking for ways to improve efficiency through this role and will be responsible for driving forward and delivering these efficiencies through technology, AI, process reengineering and improvement, enhanced reporting, and collaboration across business functions
  • The successful candidate will be a seasoned people manager, with outstanding problem-solving and team management skills
  • The position oversees the accounting team and reports to the VP of Finance and Accounting
  • Our Accounting team at RigUp is part of the overall Finance & Accounting group
  • We are a team of hard-working, curious, attentive, and collaborative professionals committed to financial accuracy, owning the responsibility of ensuring financial accuracy and completeness, revenue close, financial statement preparation, all the way to budgets, forecasts, board decks etc

  • Manage the overall month-end close functions for the RigUp group
  • Lead the development of monthly close reviews in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Supervise the Accounting team which includes review of close work and month-end analysis
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial statements close, and provide insights into results to stakeholders across the company
  • Review and manage completion of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis for all related entities and accounts
  • Identify and execute team efficiencies and improvements to the close process through automation, AI, standardization, and collaboration with supporting teams
  • Support internal and external audits and serve as a contact in the audit process
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups and serve as their accounting partner, including FP&A, Sales, Product & Engineering and Operational leaders
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP as needed
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the accounting team including setting clear goals and expectations for team members, conducting performance evaluations, and providing feedback
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to maximize team productivity and morale
  • Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the accounting team

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Experience in working with operational teams
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting
  • 4+ years of people management including team management and development
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Regular, on-time attendance
  • Ability to use office computer programs such as e-mail, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to travel on rare occasions
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the field of Accounting, including period close, financial reporting and audit experience
  • Netsuite experience
  • Implementing AI in finance processes
