Job description

Summary

The Web & Digital Experience Specialist is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and ongoing management of the organization's public website and internal portal/application. This role combines web design, WordPress administration, landing page and form development, SEO-focused content management, analytics reporting, and user experience optimization to support business goals, lead generation, employee engagement, and digital communications.

This role is ideal for someone who bridges marketing, web technology, analytics, and user experience, and who owns both external websites and internal digital platforms.

Responsibilities

Website Management & Development

  • Maintain and optimize the Gaylor website, ensuring performance, security, functionality, and content accuracy.
  • Design, build, and update website pages, landing pages, forms, and microsites.
  • Manage website themes, plugins, integrations, and updates.
  • Ensure websites are mobile-responsive, accessible, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate with vendors or developers when necessary.

Landing Page & Form Development

  • Create and optimize landing pages to support marketing campaigns, lead generation, and user engagement initiatives.
  • Work with IT and Data teams to design and build web forms, workflows, and integrations with CRM, marketing automation, and other business systems.
  • Conduct A/B testing and continuous optimization of landing pages and conversion paths.
  • Ensure forms are user-friendly, secure, and compliant with privacy requirements.

 Content Management & SEO

  • Manage website content updates and publishing schedules.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create SEO-optimized content.
  • Conduct keyword research and implement on-page SEO best practices.
  • Optimize metadata, page structure, internal linking, and content organization.
  • Monitor SEO performance and recommend improvements to increase traffic and search visibility.
  • Maintain content governance and quality standards across digital properties.

Analytics & Performance Reporting

  • Manage website analytics platforms, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and related reporting tools.
  • Monitor website traffic, user behavior, conversions, and campaign performance.
  • Work with BI team to develop dashboards and regular performance reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Analyze user journeys and identify opportunities to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  • Provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.

Internal Portal/Application Management

  • Administer and maintain the organization's internal portal, intranet, or employee-facing application.
  • Manage content, navigation, permissions, and user experiences within the platform.
  • Coordinate enhancements, integrations, and functionality improvements.
  • Support employee adoption through training, documentation, and user support.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize portal improvements.

 User Experience & Design

  • Design page layouts and digital experiences that improve usability and engagement.
  • Apply UX/UI best practices to website and portal development.
  • Ensure consistency across digital properties and devices.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and page designs as needed.
  • Support branding and visual identity standards across all digital channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Web Design, Digital Media, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing websites and digital platforms.
  • Hands-on experience administering and developing websites using WordPress.
  • Experience creating landing pages, forms, and conversion-focused digital experiences.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Search Console, and website reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive web design.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and basic web development concepts.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, or similar.
  • Experience managing intranet, portal, or employee application platforms.
  • Knowledge of Google Tag Manager and conversion tracking.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization.
  • Graphic design experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of year
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)
  • Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours, as well as additional hours if needed, on short notice
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments
  • Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations
  • Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
  • Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)
  • Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use
  • Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet
  • Ability to reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
  • Ability to work while sitting or standing for long periods
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
