Position Summary... What you'll do...This role will be a key member of the Marketplace Payments & Financial Services team, leading data analytics and measurement to improve the end-to-end payment experience for Marketplace Sellers. The Senior Manager will develop analytics, metrics, and insights across seller payment setup, payment processing, payouts, payment services, and financial services-related initiatives. The role will identify friction points across the seller payment journey, establish measurement frameworks, diagnose performance drivers, and translate data into actionable recommendations for Product, Business, Operations, and Risk teams. This role will work closely with Marketplace Payments, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Finance, and Operations teams to build scalable analytics capabilities and ensure that payment experiences and new initiatives are supported by clear measurement, performance insights, and data-driven decision making. About the Team Walmart’s Marketplace Payments & Financial Services team is focused on building and scaling payment capabilities and financial services that enable Marketplace Sellers to operate and grow effectively. The team works across Payments, Product, Engineering, Risk, Data Science, and Operations to improve the end-to-end seller payment experience—from payment setup and account configuration through transaction processing, payouts, and related payment and financial services. Data and analytics are central to how the team identifies seller pain points, measures product and operational performance, evaluates new initiatives, and prioritizes opportunities to improve the Marketplace payment experience. What You'll Do
  • Own analytics and measurement for the Marketplace seller payment experience, including payment experience, payment processing, payouts, payment services, and related financial services initiatives.
  • Analyze the end-to-end seller payment journey to identify friction points, failure drivers, process gaps, and opportunities to improve seller experience.
  • Build analytics around payment setup and configuration, including completion rates, setup failures, processing times, seller drop-offs, exceptions, and root causes.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to define success metrics and instrumentation for new payment capabilities and product launches.
  • Conduct deep-dive and exploratory analyses to understand trends, anomalies, seller behaviors, operational issues, and drivers of payment performance.
  • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reporting that provide leadership with visibility into payment experience, operational health, and key performance trends.
  • Establish appropriate baselines, benchmarks, targets, and measurement methodologies to evaluate improvements in payment products and experiences.
  • Translate complex datasets and analytical findings into clear business insights, recommendations, and prioritization decisions for senior stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Finance, and Operations to define data requirements and improve the quality and availability of payments data.
  • Support measurement and analytics for new payment services and financial services initiatives, including defining business cases, sizing opportunities, and evaluating post-launch performance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate analytics and reporting and build scalable, self-service capabilities for business and operational teams.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong experience in data analytics, business analytics, product analytics, or a related analytical discipline, preferably within Payments, FinTech, eCommerce, Financial Services, or a digital platform business.
  • Advanced analytical skills with demonstrated ability to turn large and complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience conducting exploratory data analysis using Python and statistical methods.
  • Experience defining KPIs, measurement frameworks, product funnels, operational metrics, and performance scorecards.
  • Ability to analyze customer or seller journeys and identify conversion gaps, friction points, defects, and root causes using quantitative data.
  • Experience measuring digital products or operational processes, including establishing baselines, targets, and post-launch performance measurement.
  • Experience with data visualization and BI tools to develop dashboards and communicate complex insights effectively.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems and measurable hypotheses.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to synthesize analytical findings into clear recommendations for business and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to influence Product, Engineering, Operations, Risk, and other partner teams through data and insights.
  • Experience with payments data, transaction analytics, seller or merchant payments, payouts, payment operations, or financial services is preferred.
