Overview

The Kitchen & Bath Designer leads the design and documentation of custom kitchens, bathrooms, and cabinetry for luxury residential remodeling projects. This role partners closely with clients to create functional, beautiful, and buildable spaces while guiding them through design selections, building strong client relationships, leading the sales process, and managing projects from concept through construction documentation.

The Kitchen & Bath Designer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure all designs, specifications, and cabinetry documentation are accurate, construction-ready, and code-compliant. This role requires a strong understanding of residential building codes, NKBA design guidelines, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Sales

· Build trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients.

· Lead client consultations and guide clients through the kitchen and bath remodeling process.

· Lead the sales process by developing design concepts, presenting solutions, and helping clients confidently move forward with their projects.

· Manage client expectations, budgets, schedules, and design decisions throughout the project.


Kitchen & Bath Design

· Design custom kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, bars, and other cabinetry-intensive spaces.

· Develop functional space plans and cabinetry layouts that maximize storage, workflow, and aesthetics.

· Specify cabinetry, hardware, countertops, plumbing fixtures, appliances, tile, lighting, and finish materials.

· Review cabinet shop drawings to ensure design intent is maintained throughout fabrication.


Cabinetry Design & Ordering

· Prepare cabinetry specifications and coordinate cabinet ordering with vendors and Procurement.

· Review and approve shop drawings and cabinet orders for accuracy, quality, and constructability.

· Ensure all documentation is complete and construction-ready before fabrication.

· Ensure cabinet orders are coordinated and construction-ready.


Project Coordination

· Partner with an assigned Drafter to develop complete, accurate, and construction-ready drawing sets.

· Coordinate with the Architectural, Production, Procurement, and Consultant teams throughout the project.

· Ensure all selections and documentation are complete before construction begins.

· Manage multiple projects while meeting schedules and design milestones.

· Review drawings and documentation for quality, constructability, and accuracy.

· Successfully converts client consultations into signed kitchen and bath projects.

· Delivers exceptional designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, and constructability.

· Produces accurate, construction-ready cabinetry documentation with minimal revisions.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.

· 3+ years of residential kitchen and bath design experience.

· Strong experience with custom cabinetry design, detailing, cabinet ordering, shop drawing review, and residential construction.

· Proficiency in Revit; experience with SketchUp, Bluebeam, D5 Render, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

· Proven ability to build client relationships, lead consultations, and guide clients through the sales and design process.

· Strong communication, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver exceptional client experiences.
