Job description


As the Events Sr. Specialist, you'll play an integral role in supporting the technical planning, execution, and wrap-up of hybrid events (events with in-person and virtual audience simultaneously). You'll oversee logistical elements including audio visual support, virtual and hybrid event production, and onsite support with additional administrative tasks to support the broader team where applicable. In addition, you will learn how to use Cvent (registration software) to support the growing needs of the team, including creating and owning simple registration sites and updating data.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another nonBest Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do:
 
  • Coordinate all pre-event logistics, including venue setup, presentation materials, rehearsals, and event technology preparation.
  • Create, configure, and support Microsoft Teams Live Events, Town Halls, Webinars, and Meetings.
  • Produce live events by operating audio/visual equipment and ensuring a seamless experience for in-person and remote attendees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time during event execution.
  • Manage post-event activities, including equipment breakdown, video editing, and delivery of finalized recordings.
  • Utilize Cvent to maintain event data and build basic registration sites while continuously expanding knowledge of event technologies and best practices.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and vendors, with flexibility to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Basic qualifications
 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience with meeting/event planning including AV production
  • Advanced level of experience with creating and executing virtual and hybrid meetings with Microsoft Teams
  • Elevated understanding of production industry standards and terminology
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a larger working team
