AVP / VP opportunity.
SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Interest Rate Derivatives Sales professional, to join our growing team at a regional bank with markets in Florida, New York, and the Sun Belt. The ideal candidate will be responsible for marketing, pricing, and trading interest rate hedging products with the commercial lending teams and corporate clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Sales & Business Development:
  • Structures, prices, and executes derivative transactions with corporate clients, ensuring that all pre-trade requirements are in place, including Dodd Frank disclosures, and credit approval.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies across the bank's commercial businesses to grow market share and achieve fee income targets.
  • Prepares educational materials and custom sales pitches to clients, prospects, and internally to educate and provide additional learning opportunities.

Client Relationship Management:
  • Establishes and maintains close partnerships with relationship managers to identify and call on clients with interest rate exposures and propose appropriate hedging solutions.

Market Knowledge:
  • Prepares and shares market updates during team meetings and with clients.

Revenue Generation:
  • Meets and exceeds sales targets by driving revenue growth.
  • Negotiates pricing and structure deals in line with the bank's risk management policies and profitability goals.

Cross-Selling:
  • Works closely with other relationship management teams in other departments such as Treasury Services and Corporate and Commercial Banking to cross-sell complementary banking products and solutions.

Risk Management & Compliance:
  • Partners with internal supporting functions including Operations for onboarding clients and resolving all operational inquiries.
  • Prepares and reviews swap and loan documentation from pre-trade discussions through trade execution and post-trade administration.
  • Coordinates with legal counsel to negotiate ISDA agreements and ensure that the terms of proposed derivatives trades are consistent with the terms of the underlying loan.
  • Collaborates with the Risk and Compliance teams to mitigate any potential risks related to derivative transactions.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
  • Provides regular reports on sales activity, client feedback, and market conditions for senior management.

Training & Development:
  • Mentors and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Stays informed about new products, services, and industry practices to contribute to team development and best practices.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field MBA or professional certifications (eg, CFA) are a plus required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in derivative sales and trading within a corporate bank or financial services environment preferred.
  • Proven track record in selling derivative products to corporate clients is essential preferred.
  • FX sales and trading experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a regional or super regional bank preferred.
  • Established network of corporate clients in New York/ Florida/ Southeast markets preferred.
  • Experience using Derivative Path, Chatham, or a similar trading system preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and derivative instruments.
  • Requires excellent analytical, conceptual, oral and written communication skills.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, including an advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Bloomberg, is required. Knowledge of other market-based software platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on client needs and market trends.
