Job description

Description
The Senior Director of Finance is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the property. Provides leadership and coordinates Financial Accounting and Reporting, Revenue Audit, Cage and Credit Administration including count room, Payroll, Purchasing, Warehouse and Inventory Control functions of the gaming facility in accordance with Wind Creek's Purpose and Value System. Supports the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and operational financial performance of the property while partnering with operating departments to achieve company objectives
Minimum Employment Requirements:
  • 18 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form.
  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Wind Creek appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to Wind Creek's customer service standards.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field AND five (5) years' experience in a Director-level position with responsibility for budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and fiscal oversight required.

OR Seven (7) years' experience in a Director-level position with responsibility for budgeting, financial planning, forecasting, and fiscal oversight required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in an accounting or finance management role required.
  • Ten (10) years of accrual accounting experience preferred, including knowledge and understanding of Revenue Audit, Cage Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and accounting documentation.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, FASB, accrual-based accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis required.
  • Experience with accounting and financial reporting systems required.
  • Documented experience in written communications with strong English language, report writing, and presentation skills required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in operating a 10-key calculator and efficiently utilizing business software applications.
  • Demonstrated success leading accounting, finance, purchasing, warehouse, inventory control, and revenue audit functions preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and team development skills required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operational and executive leadership in achieving business objectives.
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board licensing required for the position.
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directs assigned functional areas of the property finance division including Financial Accounting, Revenue Audit, Cage and Credit Administration including count room, Payroll, Purchasing, Warehouse and Inventory Control.
  • Contributes to financial and departmental effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and goals, recommending courses of action, and implementing approved initiatives.
  • Maintains internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures as required to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations, Internal Controls, accounting requirements, and financial reporting standards.
  • Supports the strategic financial programs of the property, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, asset conservation, and business performance management.
  • Participates in the annual operating and capital budget processes and works with operational leaders to monitor performance against financial objectives.
  • Oversees the approval and timely processing of revenues, expenditures, account reconciliations, general ledger activity, purchasing transactions, inventory controls, and warehouse operations.
  • Supports procurement initiatives through oversight of purchasing practices, vendor relationships, contract compliance, inventory management, and cost-control efforts.
  • Assists in evaluating operational initiatives, capital projects, business opportunities, and vendor agreements through financial analysis and business case development.
  • Communicates and assists operational leaders regarding financial performance, fiscal responsibility, business risks, opportunities, and financial solutions.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves financial and operational issues impacting profitability, compliance, efficiency, or internal controls and takes corrective action when necessary.
  • Corresponds with executive and corporate leadership regarding financial performance, operational issues, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Recommends and coordinates improvements to financial systems, reporting processes, internal controls, and operating procedures that improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Counsels, guides, develops, and instructs direct reports in the performance of their duties and identifies growth, training, succession, and development opportunities.
  • Authority to issue a complimentary in accordance with Wind Creek's Comp Matrix.
  • Creates an environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, guest service excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with Wind Creek's Purpose and Value System.
