We have an opening for a Senior Integration Engineer.
The Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable integrations using Workato. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and fellow engineers to deliver reliable, maintainable integration solutions that support critical business processes. Senior engineers are expected to contribute technically while also elevating team practices, quality, and collaboration.
Job Description
In this capacity, the Senior Integration Engineer will:
Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain respectful, collaborative, and solution-oriented communication across the integrations team, business partners, and broader organization;
  • Act as a trusted partner by asking clarifying questions, offering alternatives, and providing constructive feedback on requirements;
  • Proactively raise blockers, risks, or delivery concerns;
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives); and
  • Create, maintain, and update Jira tickets to accurately reflect scope, progress, and risks.

Technical Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead the design and implementation of complex integrations using Workato, APIs, webhooks, and middleware components;
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and monitor integrations across enterprise systems (e.g., document management, finance, HR, CRM, and analytics platforms);
  • Leverage advanced Workato capabilities including recipe design, custom connectors, SDKs, on-prem agents, and optimization techniques;
  • Ensure integrations are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise architecture and governance standards;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues and drive continuous optimization and reuse opportunities; and
  • Perform and lead code/recipe reviews to improve quality, maintainability, and consistency across the platform.

Continuous Improvement & Leadership
  • Identify and implement process improvements, tooling enhancements, and best practices;
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and hands-on support;
  • Contribute to standards, reusable integration patterns, and documentation libraries; and
  • Promote modern integration approaches including automation, real-time data synchronization, and emerging capabilities.

Presentations & Knowledge Sharing
  • Present sprint deliverables during sprint reviews; and
  • Lead team demos or facilitate technical discussions at least once per quarter.

Proficiencies:
  • Expert-level proficiency in Workato or comparable iPaaS platforms;
  • Strong experience with APIs (REST/SOAP/GraphQL), webhooks, authentication (OAuth), and data formats (JSON/XML);
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data platforms;
  • Familiarity with scripting or low-code tools (JavaScript, Python, Workato formulas); and
  • Understanding of enterprise systems and integration patterns, including security and governance best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience;
  • 7+ years of experience in application development or integration engineering;
  • Demonstrated experience with Workato or similar iPaaS platforms;
  • Proven ability to lead integration initiatives and deliver scalable solutions; and
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The salary wage range for New York that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $134,500 and a maximum of $190,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
