Injection Molding Process Engineer
Overview
US Conec is seeking a skilled Injection Molding Process Engineer to join our Fort Worth team. In this role, you'll lead and optimize injection molding operations, develop and maintain support infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. You'll serve as the technical expert for molding systems and equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical engineering backgrounds and hands-on experience in injection molding environments who thrive in fast-paced, precision-driven settings.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and test machinery and equipment under the direction of engineering staff
  • Serve as the technical expert for injection molding support infrastructure including pumps, filters, chillers, evaporative coolers, piping systems, heat transfer, air quality, compressed air, and electrical systems
  • Act as a safety leader for all aspects of injection molding operations and general industrial practices
  • Diagnose tooling, processing, or equipment issues by inspecting molded parts and applying root cause analysis
  • Create procedures and protocols for reacting to machine alarms and press alerts
  • Stay with test runs or new tool startups unless redirected by high-priority production needs
  • Develop standardized processes for:
    • Process adjustments
    • New tool introduction
    • Test runs
    • Molding procedures
    • Machine conversions
  • Standardize communication expectations including startup notifications and issue tracking
  • Collaborate with shift leads to determine production priorities and scheduling

Must Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience with lot number traceability, engineering-grade resins, and specification-driven processes
  • Expertise in injection molding equipment including specifying, upgrading, repairing, and maintaining systems
  • Ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs
  • Deep knowledge of auxiliary equipment such as mold water/oil heaters, hot manifold systems, screws, barrels, ceramic barrel heater bands, material drying and conveying systems, and dew-point meters
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Safety-first mindset and collaborative approach
