SR. HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Job Title: Sr. HR Generalist | Department: Human Resources | Reports to: HR Manager | FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

The Sr. Human Resources (HR) Generalist serves as a trusted HR partner, providing expert guidance and hands‑on support across all facets of the employee lifecycle. This role manages complex employee relations matters, advises leaders on performance management and policy interpretation, and ensures compliance with employment laws and company standards. The Sr. HR Generalist also plays a key role in driving strategic initiatives, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role will require a candidate who can leverage their skills and experience to remain neutral and approachable, thereby gaining the trust and respect of our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Handle complex employee relations cases, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, while maintaining confidentiality and legal compliance
  • HR Strategy & Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to managers and executives, providing guidance on HR policies, workforce planning, and organizational development
  • Benefits & Leave Administration: Oversee benefits programs, FMLA, STD/LTD claims, and other leave management processes
  • Performance Management: Support performance improvement plans, succession planning, and coaching managers on employee development
  • Compliance & Legal: Ensure adherence to labor laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements; manage investigations and escal
  • HR Programs & Projects: Lead or support HR initiatives such as compensation planning, diversity programs, training, and organizational change projects
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior HR staff, fostering professional development and knowledge transfer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QualificationsWhat You Bring to United Precision Corporation:

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Several years of HR generalist experience, with demonstrated ability to handle complex employee relations and strategic HR initiatives, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Several years of experience supporting HR operations across multi-state locations
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certifications
  • Experience with Paycom HRIS
  • Prior experience within the aerospace and/or defense industries
Skills and Competencies for Success
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex situations with discretion
  • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making capabilities
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, reporting, and analytics
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office/warehouse environment, with frequent interruptions and irregular work schedules. No special coordination beyond those used for normal mobility, handling of everyday objects and materials, and use of office equipment is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.

This position is expected to be onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
