Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Superintendent to lead and manage complex construction projects within the healthcare sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique requirements and regulations associated with healthcare environments, including infection control protocols, sensitive infrastructure, and patient safety considerations. The Senior Healthcare Superintendent will oversee daily construction activities, coordinate multiple trade contractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day on-site supervision of healthcare construction projects including hospitals, clinics, and specialized medical facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific regulatory requirements and standards, including infection control risk assessments and protocols.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to maintain project schedules and deliverables.
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols tailored to healthcare settings to protect patients, staff, and workers.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and hospital staff to address project challenges and maintain alignment with design specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction meets all applicable codes, plans, and quality standards.
  • Manage documentation including daily reports, change orders, RFIs, and safety records specific to healthcare construction.
  • Anticipate potential project risks or issues and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impact on schedule and budget.
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and timely decision-making.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 10 years Experience as a Superintendent
  • Minimum of 5 years of superintendent experience in healthcare construction or related fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare construction regulations, infection control, and safety standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-trade commercial or institutional construction projects.
  • Develop and maintain clear project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Familiarity with ProcoreBluebeamBIM, and Microsoft Project
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams including hospital personnel and regulatory agencies.
