Scope  

The Purchasing Program Buyer leads purchasing activities for new vehicle launches, engineering changes, and cost optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment with program milestones and strategic sourcing goals. Acting as a key liaison across cross-functional teams, the buyer drives supplier readiness, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation throughout the product development lifecycle.

Activity 

  • Coordinate closely with all purchasing divisions and cross-functional program teams (engineering, manufacturing, and program management) to support the overall purchasing strategy. 
  • Represent purchasing in program meetings and ensure supplier capabilities meet technical and timing requirements. 
  • Monitor part development within scope, ensuring suppliers meet deadlines and cost targets throughout the program lifecycle. 
  • Track and monitor design changes and engineering releases by providing timely commercial updates and supplier communication. 
  • Track BOM (Bill of Material) cost evolution and drive cost optimization through VA/VE (Value Analysis/ Value Engineering) initiatives and competitive benchmarking. 
  • Ensure supplier readiness across all phases—prototype, pre-production, and production—while resolving issues and mitigating risks related to capacity, tooling, and compliance. 
  • Manages full development programs with broader scope; responsible for ~70% of lifecycle changes. 
  • Leads supplier development and readiness; actively drives cross-functional collaboration and issue resolution. 

 Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement 
  • English language proficiency

  • Proficiency in cost analysis 
  • Skills in negotiating contracts and prices 
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships 
  • Knowledge of automotive products and technologies 
  • Proactive, and results-driven
