Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Project Management Office (PMO) to lead and transform our enterprise project management organization. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving PMO maturity, improving project delivery methodologies, and leading high-performing teams. The ideal candidate will oversee the PMO, establish governance, improve operational excellence, and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Management Office (PMO) team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and execute the organization's PMO strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Transform project management practices by implementing best-in-class governance, methodologies, standards, and processes.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise project portfolio management (PPM) frameworks.
  • Drive strategic planning, prioritization, and execution of enterprise initiatives.
  • Develop project forecasting models, including resource, staffing, capacity, budget, and timeline planning.
  • Lead portfolio planning and ensure effective allocation of project resources.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project and portfolio risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Build executive dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into project health, financial performance, and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and align investments with strategic goals.
  • Ensure consistent project governance, compliance, and delivery standards across all programs.
  • Drive organizational change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, vendor engagements, and financial performance.
  • Present project portfolio updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive project and program management experience.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing PMO teams and enterprise portfolios.
  • Demonstrated experience transforming and maturing PMO organizations.
  • Strong expertise in project portfolio management, governance, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with resource planning, workforce forecasting, and capacity management.
  • Extensive experience in project risk management and mitigation planning.
  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • PgMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certifications.
  • Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools such as ServiceNow SPM, Microsoft Project Online, Jira, Azure DevOps, or Planview.
  • MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
