Director, Flow Cytometry

Full-time

Job Summary:

The Director of Flow Cytometry will lead the strategic planning, direction, and execution of all Flow Cytometry operations. This includes services such as receptor occupancy, surface and intracellular markers evaluation. The role requires a strong scientific background in flow cytometry, leadership capabilities, and a clear understanding of regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire flow cytometry business unit and ensure that operations run efficiently and effectively.

Develop and implement strategic plans for the department's growth, keeping pace with the latest advancements in flow cytometry.

Ensure that the department complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

Provide scientific and technical guidance and client communication on flow cytometry to staff and collaborators, including specialized services like receptor occupancy flow service, surface and intracellular markers.

Lead a team of scientists and technologists, ensuring they are trained, mentored, and developed to their full potential.

Drive new business development efforts and partnerships related to flow cytometry.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure the flow cytometry services align with company objectives.

Review and respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs), working with the proposal team to develop competitive and comprehensive responses.

Represent the company at professional conferences, trade shows, and other events.

Qualifications:

A PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or a related field, with an emphasis on flow cytometry.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in flow cytometry with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of scientists and technologists.

Proven track record in strategic planning, RFP response, and business development.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient understanding of regulatory requirements for flow cytometry.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

Experience working in a regulated (e.g., FDA, CAP, and CLIA) environment.

Published author in peer-reviewed journals, especially in flow cytometry-focused publications.

Familiarity with receptor occupancy flow service, surface and intracellular markers, and hematology markers.
