**Senior Fitness Internship Opportunity**
Are you passionate about fitness and interested in making an impact with the senior population?
Live 2 B Healthy DFW Mid-Cities is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in senior fitness and wellness programs.
This role provides the chance to work directly with adults aged 60+ in various settings, including assisted living, independent living, and community centers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Group Fitness Classes: Conduct scheduled on-site fitness classes tailored to the needs and abilities of older adults, focusing on functional movement, balance, and strength.
  • Class Attendance Reporting: Accurately record attendance in the Mindbody Business app. Properly onboard new clients, collecting the required information and waivers.
  • Ensure Safety & Inclusivity: Monitor participants closely to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively. Modify activities as needed to support all fitness levels.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Create a motivating, respectful, and inclusive environment. Establish trust and rapport with residents, staff, and community decision-makers.
  • Follow Program Guidelines: Adhere to all Live 2 B Healthy protocols and curriculum standards.
  • Communication: Communicate class concerns or scheduling issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Therapy, or a related field.
  • Passion for working with the senior population.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt fitness programs to suit varying levels of ability and mobility.
  • Current nationally recognized fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or equivalent)
    • If you are not yet certified, we can discuss getting you certified!
  • Current CPR/AED certification
    • Same as above, if you are not yet CPR certified, we can discuss getting you certified!

Position Summary:Fitness Trainers are the heart of the Live 2 B Healthy program, delivering safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes for older adults in senior living communities. This role requires a passion for helping seniors stay active, with a strong commitment to program quality, safety, and participant progress. Our classes are 30-45 minutes depending on the type of class. We offer the following programs: Strength and Balance, Yoga/Chair Yoga, Aqua Fitness, Tai Chi, and Private Personal/Small Group Training. We serve the following types of senior living communities: Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Independent Living, Memory Care, 55+ Active Adult, Senior Centers, and more.
