Job description

Overview
Kimley-Horn, one of Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For," is looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join the corporate Finance and Accounting team in our Raleigh, NC headquarters.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with purchase accounting for acquisitions in accordance with ASC 805, Business Combinations
  • Support the preparation of acquisition opening balance sheets and purchase price allocation
  • Compile and analyze acquired company financial information to identify assets acquired and liabilities assumed
  • Prepare journal entries related to acquisitions, including goodwill and other purchase accounting adjustments
  • Assist with documenting accounting positions and preparing acquisition-related accounting memos
  • Support the integration of acquired entities into the company's financial reporting and consolidation processes
  • Assist with the preparation of acquisition-related disclosures for external financial statements
  • Assist with the year-end financial statement review which includes the preparation of external financial statements and cash flows, ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Assist with the monthly financial statement consolidation process
  • Prepare and analyze financial information for other teams as well as senior leadership
  • Support our annual indirect cost rate audit on an as needed basis
  • Assist with special projects among various teams nationwide

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA certification required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Public Accounting
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP including experience with or exposure to M&A transactions, purchase accounting (ASC 805), or financial due diligence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent quantitative skills combined with an ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
  • High degree of professionalism and the ability to work with employees at all levels
  • Exceptional client service mentality and strong work ethic
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Must be an excellent team player as well as work independently
