What does a senior financial analyst do?

Financial analysts improve a company’s financial profile by aligning accounting decisions with economic trends. Once they have at least 4-6 years of work experience, financial analysts can advance towards a senior financial analyst role. Senior financial analysts closely examine data, then use their findings to advise on investment decisions. They also supervise other members of the finance department, support forecasting, and prepare financial proposals to be approved by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior financial analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Financial Analyst, you need advanced financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting skills, typically backed by a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Familiarity with financial software such as Excel, SAP, Hyperion, and often a CFA or CPA certification is highly valued. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication help you interpret complex data and present actionable insights to stakeholders. These skills are crucial for driving strategic business decisions and ensuring accurate financial planning and analysis.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration skills, and a desire to operate in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join an impactful team that plays a critical role in shaping the future growth of Roku.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $125,000 - $140,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

How will I use AI at Roku?

At Roku, we don't just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability.

We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they've used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly. Above all, they bring curiosity, adaptability, and sound judgment.

What are the responsibilities of the role?
  • Support the consolidation of actuals and forecasts across business units for long-range strategic planning, annual planning, and forecast and close cycles
  • Produce reporting that encompasses the full P&L (revenue to operating profit), units, and headcount
  • Collaborate with the broader FP&A team to craft narratives for senior leadership, connecting results and key metrics for comprehensive performance explanations and forward-looking projections

  • Produce and distribute recurring and ad hoc management reports, ensuring financial reporting accuracy and timeliness
  • Drive the continued development of standardized reporting and presentations across the business
  • Develop and manage source-of-truth data sources that feed into financial reporting
  • Support the creation of materials and analyses for executive and board-level audiences
