Central Washington University is recruiting a Full-Time Lecturer of Film Production to join our Theatre and Film team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role:
This position in the Department of Theatre & Film is expected to teach existing introductory and advanced Film courses in film production. Faculty are expected to advise students; contribute to the department/program; engage in scholarship appropriate to their field; and provide service to the University, the community and their profession. Faculty will integrate CWU's vision, mission, and values and create a learning environment that fosters student success and institutional excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MFA or terminal degree in filmmaking or production
  • Some college-level teaching experience
  • Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities
  • Teaching, research, service or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of collegiate level teaching experience
  • Demonstrated teaching and scholarship/creative activity in Film Production, Cinematography, Editing, and/or Screenwriting
  • Documented experience as a filmmaker
  • Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Documented experience in curriculum development and leading/leading a program area
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard or Canvas
  • Ability to incorporate Diverse perspectives and issues into curriculum and classroom conversations.
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment and/or utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success.

Pay & Work Schedule
Annual Salary: $45,000 - $60,000, based on a full-time, nine-month appointment
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position
Appointment: Temporary, Non-Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
