Job description

Pay Range: $70-75/hr. Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina. 6 mo. Contract position.

Role Overview

The Exchange Migration Engineer will participate in the planning, design, and management of email and data migration during large acquisitions. This position provides support for the migration of email to Exchange Online and assists with data migrations from external sources to Box. This role requires knowledge of Exchange Online, Internet Email systems, and DNS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the migration of mailboxes from multiple external sources to one or more managed Exchange Online tenants.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the migration process, ensuring minimal disruption to users and business operations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess current mailbox configurations and requirements for migration.
  • Provide escalation support to end-users during the migration process, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Document migration procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
  • Assist the Data Migration team as necessary to migrate data from external sources to a centralized, managed Box instance.
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience performing migrations for Microsoft Exchange or Exchange Online, with an understanding of DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience using BitTitan MigrationWiz, Sharegate or Quest for mailbox migration to Exchange Online.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting end-user clients (Outlook and MS Teams) on multiple platforms (Windows, MacOS, iOS & Android).
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to explain technical procedures in business terms for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current industry certifications are encouraged, with a focus on Exchange Online, Entra ID and Security, and Box.
  • Experience with Jira, Miro, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Box migration tools.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems through sound and methodical troubleshooting.

Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or equivalent IT work experience of 3+ years is required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, including migrations, is required.
